Analysis of driving forces behind diversified carbon dioxide emission patterns in regions of the mainland

摘要: China has large regional disparities in carbon dioxide CO emissions with economic development among its 31 provincial mainland regions. This paper investigates these disparities in CO emission patterns and identifies the factors underlying the differences. Results show that the 30 study China's mainland provinces (Tibet not included) can be divided into seven groups with three typical CO emission patterns. Index decomposition results indicate that changes in economic development, the industrial sector, and technology contribute far more to increased CO emissions than do population, energy structure, and other sectors. Close inspection reveals that different industry structures and technology contribute greatly to the differences observed in CO emissions between provinces with similar economic output. This study highlights the importance of region-specific industrial structure adjustment policies, especially for regions transitioning to heavy industry and for those still in the primary stages of industrialization. The potential application of a domestic carbon emissions trading system, to encourage regional investment in updated technology, is also discussed.

A review of salting-out effect and sugaring-out effect: driving forces for novel liquid-liquid extraction

摘要: Biofuels and bio-based chemicals are getting more and more attention because of their sustainable and renewable properties and wide industrial applications. However, the low concentrations of the targeted products in their fermentation broths, the complicated components of the broths and the high energy-intensive separation and purification process hinder the competitiveness of biofuels and biochemicals with the petro-based ones. Hence, the production and the separation of biofuels and bio-based chemicals in energy-saving, low-cost and greenness ways become hot topics nowadays. This review introduces the separation technologies (salting-out extraction, salting-out, sugaring-out extraction, and sugaring-out) that extract biobutanol, 1,3-propanediol, 2,3-butanediol, acetoin, organic acids and other bio-based chemicals from fermentation broths/aqueous solutions. Salting-out/sugaring-out extraction and salting-out/sugaring-out technologies display the high separating efficiency and the high targeted product yields. In addition, they are easy to operate and require low cost for separating products. Hence, they are the effective and potential technologies for separating targeted products in the wide industrial applications. The successful research into the salting-out/sugaring-out and salting-out/sugaring-out extraction not only affords biofuels and biochemical but also opens a door for the development of novel separation methods.

Driving mechanism and boundary control of urban sprawl

摘要: Since the reform and opening-up, China’s economy has achieved remarkable development and so does the urbanization. However, there is an unavoidable contradiction between urban sprawl and the protection of arable land and the environment. By redefining the urban sprawl boundary, this paper is to provide a solution for the conflict above on the China’s urbanization context. The ideal boundary, moderate boundary and limit boundary are defined for urban sprawl in space. Taking Nanjing city as a case, the three urban sprawl boundaries are estimated in this paper based on the calculation of agricultural land resources value in Nanjing. The results show that 1) the integrated value of agricultural (cultivated) land resources in Nanjing is 1.55 × 10 CNY·hm , the economic value accounts for only 8.74% of the integrated value, while 91.26% of the integrated value has not revealed itself due to the existing institutional arrangements, policy distortions, and imperfect land market; 2) it is difficult to define the ideal and moderate boundaries due to the relatively low price of North Nanjing. In South Nanjing the land price is expensive and the ideal, moderate and limit boundaries are expanded to Jiangning, Qixia, and Yuhuatai; 3) the city scale of South Nanjing should be limited within 5.82 × 10 hm , which is roughly the same as the designated size of 5.81 × 10 hm in the urban planning. It is suggested that the rational scope of urban expansion should be controlled within the moderate boundary.

Trends and driving forces of low-carbon energy technology innovation in China’s industrial sectors from

摘要: Low-carbon energy technology (LC) innovation contributes to both environmental protection and economic development. Using the panel data of 30 provinces/autonomous regions/municipalities in China from 1998 to 2017, this paper constructs a two-layer logarithmic mean Divisia index (LMDI) model to uncover the factors influencing the variation of the innovation of LC in China’s industrial sectors, including the alternative energy production technology (AEPT) and the energy conversation technology (ECT). The results show that China’s industrial LC patent applications rapidly increased after 2005 and AEPT patent applications outweighed ECT patent applications all the time with a gradually narrowing gap. Low-carbon degree played the dominant role in promoting the increase in China’s industrial LC patent applications, followed by the economic scale, R&D (research and development) efficiency, and R&D share. Economic structure contributed to the increases in LC patent applications in the central and the western regions, while led to the decreases in the eastern region, the north-eastern region, and Chinese mainland . Low-carbon degree and economic scale were two main contributors to the growths of both industrial AEPT patent applications and ECT patent applications in Chinese mainland and the four regions. Several policy recommendations are made to further promote industrial innovation in China.

Industrial development and land use/cover change and their effects on local environment: a case study of Changshu in eastern coastal China

摘要: The interactions among industrial development, land use/cover change (LUCC), and environmental effects in Changshu in the eastern coastal China were analyzed using high-resolution Landsat TM data in 1990, 1995, 2000, and 2006, socio-economic data and water environmental quality monitoring data from research institutes and governmental departments. Three phases of industrial development in Changshu were examined (i.e., the three periods of 1990 to 1995, 1995 to 2000, and 2000 to 2006). Besides industrial development and rapid urbanization, land use/cover in Changshu had changed drastically from 1990 to 2006. This change was characterized by major replacements of farmland by urban and rural settlements, artificial ponds, forested and constructed land. Industrialization, urbanization, agricultural structure adjustment, and rural housing construction were the major socio-economic driving forces of LUCC in Changshu. In addition, the annual value of ecosystem services in Changshu decreased slightly during 1990–2000, but increased significantly during 2000–2006. Nevertheless, the local environmental quality in Changshu, especially in rural areas, has not yet been improved significantly. Thus, this paper suggests an increased attention to fully realize the role of land supply in adjustment of environment-friendly industrial structure and urban-rural spatial restructuring, and translating the land management and environmental protection policies into an optimized industrial distribution and land-use pattern.

6G移动网络架构SOLIDS——驱动力、特征及功能拓扑 Review

摘要:

随着第五代(5G)移动网络的大规模商用部署,面向2030 年的新服务和新应用正逐渐兴起,信息、通信和数据技术(ICDT)的深度融合已成为未来网络发展趋势。新应用需求、新技术趋势以及5G实践经验,构成了下一代移动网络发展的三大驱动力。本文回顾了移动网络架构演进的历史和驱动力,提出了第六代(6G)移动网络的逻辑功能架构。所提6G网络架构称为SOLIDS,由其六大基本网络特征构成,即柔性(soft)、按需服务(on-demand fulfillment)、至简(lite)、内生智慧(native intelligence)、数字孪生(digital twin)和内生安全(native security)。该网络架构可以有效解决5G网络面临的高成本、高功耗、操作和维护难等主要问题,可在无需人工参与的情况下支持网络的自生成、自修复、自演进和自免疫。

Prediction of cutting forces in machining of unidirectional glass fiber reinforced plastics composite

Machining of plastic materials has become increasingly important in any engineering industry subsequently the prediction of cutting forces. Forces quality has greater influence on components, which are coming in contact with each other. So it becomes necessary to measure and study machined forces and its behavior. In this research work, experimental investigations are conducted to determine the effects of cutting conditions and tool geometry on the cutting forces in the turning of the unidirectional glass fiber reinforced plastics (UD-GFRP) composites. In this experimental study, carbide tool (K10) having different tool nose radius and tool rake angle is used. Experiments are conducted based on the established Taguchi’s technique L18 orthogonal array on a lathe machine. It is found that the depth of cut is the cutting parameter, which has greater influence on cutting forces. The effect of the tool nose radius and tool rake angles on the cutting forces are also considerably significant. Based on statistical analysis, multiple regression model for cutting forces is derived with satisfactory coefficient (R2). This model proved to be highly preferment for predicting cutting forces.

大型膜生物反应器在中国工业废水处理中的应用——技术经济特征、驱动力和展望 Review

摘要:

膜生物反应器(membrane bioreactor, MBR)在中国工业废水处理和回收利用领域发挥了持续性重要作用。MBR技术在其成熟应用阶段的可持续发展有赖于工程和科研双方的互惠互动。本研究针对2003—2019年投入运营和在建的共计182座处理工业废水的大型MBR工程(单体规模≥ 5000 m3·d‒1)进行了全面分析。随着MBR在各工业行业中的推广应用,累积处理规模迅速增长,超大型MBR工程在近期也得到快速发展。依据不同工业废水的特点,对处理工艺、污染物去除效率和实际运行参数进行了归纳,并与城镇污水处理进行了比较;在经济特征方面,对项目总投资、总占地面积、运行能耗等进行了分析。随着膜元件供应商和工程商的快速发展、政府项目不断增加,以及新型灵活的商业模式的发展,中国已形成一个充满活力的MBR市场。MBR技术目前多应用于各大经济带和缺水地区。考虑到工业废水处理和回收利用的巨大市场,可以预见未来MBR在中国各地的进一步推广应用。政策—经济和市场—技术两方面的驱动力表明MBR的发展与国家发展需求一致。为保持MBR的竞争力,本文基于调研和分析结果,对其在工程应用和科学研发两方面的发展进行了展望。

Spatiotemporal evolution and driving factors for GHG emissions of aluminum industry in China

摘要: China’s aluminum (Al) production has released a huge amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As one of the biggest country of primary Al production, China must mitigate its overall GHG emission from its Al industry so that the national carbon neutrality target can be achieved. Under such a background, the study described in this paper conducts a dynamic material flow analysis to reveal the spatiotemporal evolution features of Al flows in China from 2000 to 2020. Decomposition analysis is also performed to uncover the driving factors of GHG emission generated from the Al industry. The major findings include the fact that China’s primary Al production center has transferred to the western region; the primary Al smelting and carbon anode consumption are the most carbon-intensive processes in the Al life cycle; the accumulative GHG emission from electricity accounts for 78.14% of the total GHG emission generated from the Al industry; China’s current Al recycling ratio is low although the corresponding GHG emission can be reduced by 93.73% if all the primary Al can be replaced by secondary Al; and the total GHG emission can be reduced by 88.58% if major primary Al manufacturing firms are transferred from Inner Mongolia to Yunnan. Based upon these findings and considering regional disparity, several policy implications are proposed, including promotion of secondary Al production, support of clean electricity penetration, and relocation of the Al industry.

Large eddy simulation of turbulent buffet forces in flow induced vibration

摘要: The pressure pulse filter and Smagorinsky sub-grid stress model of the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) are introduced. The fluid field in the annular plenum between the pressure vessel and the core barrel of the1:5 model in the second phase of Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant is simulated, and the distribution of the total pressure in the space and time domains is obtained. The results show that the Power Spectrum Density (PSD) of LES from the calculation and the test are in the same quantity order. Thus, the pressure of LES can be a load to stimulate the barrel vibration.

不同智能驾驶试验平台的传感器型号、数量、安装位置各不相同,导致传感器信息处理模块也各不相同;不同驾驶地图,其提供信息的粒度也没有固定标准,由此构成的智能驾驶系统软件模块的数量、接口各不相同。基于以驾驶脑为核心的智能驾驶车辆软件与硬件架构,决策模块将不直接与传感器信息处理模块发生关联,通过驾驶认知的形式化语言,将驾驶认知形式化,由驾驶脑认知形成决策。驾驶认知的形式化降低了传感器数量、类型、安装位置的变化对整个软件架构的影响,使得软件架构可以在不同传感器配置车辆平台上方便地移植。

Mechanism of self-excited torsional vibration of locomotive driving system

摘要: A single wheelset drive model and 2-DOFs torsional vibration model were established to investigate the self-excited torsional vibration of a locomotive driving system. The simulation results indicate that the self-excited torsional vibration occurs when the steady slip velocity is located at the descending slope of the adhesion coefficient curve. The principle of energy conservation was used to analyze the mechanism of the self-excited vibration. The factors affecting on the amplitude of the self-excited vibration are studied.

自动驾驶地图有关政策的思考和建议

摘要:

自动驾驶地图作为实现汽车自动驾驶的关键基础设施,对于推动我国自动驾驶领域的商业化开发至关重要。现阶段,我国受地图测绘、应用和监管等相关法律法规的制度掣肘,在自动驾驶地图的产业化进程方面相对滞后。为此,本文着重分析了我国在自动驾驶地图开发、应用和管理中面临的主要政策法规问题:自动驾驶地图是否需加密的问题、自动驾驶地图部分地理信息表达受限的问题、自动驾驶地图地理信息采集资质和审图流程的问题、自动驾驶地图事故责任和保险问题、自动驾驶地图相关测试规范和测试场景问题。同时结合国内外自动驾驶领域的发展趋势,给出加快我国自动驾驶汽车开发和商业化进程的四点建议:制定自动驾驶地图管理模式、允许自动驾驶地图应用试点及有序开放、适当放开企业权限及优化审核流程、建立国家级自动驾驶地图平台。

在混合动态交通环境中,准确地预测周围车辆长期范围内的运动轨迹是自动驾驶车辆(AV)实现合理行为决策和保障行车安全不可或缺的前提条件之一。本文提出了一种车辆长期轨迹预测的概率框架,由驾驶意图推理模型(DIM)和轨迹预测模型(TPM)组成。DIM基于动态贝叶斯网络进行设计和应用,用于准确推断车辆潜在的驾驶意图。文中所提出的DIM结合了基本的交通规则和车辆多维运动信息。为了进一步提高轨迹预测精度并实现预测不确定性识别,本文开发了基于高斯过程(GP)的TPM,综合考虑了车辆模型的短期预测结果和运动特性。最后,在高速换道场景下进行仿真验证,说明了新方法的有效性。通过与其他先进方法进行对比,展示并验证了该框架在车辆长期轨迹预测任务中的优异性能。
